2009 - 2010 - RN4Cast: Ensuring effectiveness in the nursing workforce

RN4Cast: Ensuring effectiveness in the nursing workforce - 2009/10 - Employment Research is working partnership with the National Nursing Research Unit at Kings College London to deliver the UK component of this major research project funded by the seventh EU Framework Programme.

The study (named RN4CAST) looks at human resource planning in nursing and brings together data on nursing practice, patient safety, quality of care and patient outcomes in order to inform nursing workforce management. The objective of RN4CAST is to add to the accuracy of forecasting models and generate new approaches to more effective management of nursing resources in Europe.

Employment Research has responsibility for delivering the nurse survey among 3000 nurses at 30 NHS trusts. This is being delivered via postal and online surveys in 10 wards within each trust. We are also responsible for delivering the organisational profile surveys within these trusts.

See http://www.rn4cast.eu/en/index.php for more information on the multi-national project.
